OC Kickboxing offers fitness kickboxing classes which focus on bag work, conditioning and getting a great workout. We also offer kickboxing classes which focus on learning technique, developing skills and progressing through a program with beginning, intermediate and advanced classes, allowing the student to always set and accomplish new goals. Both programs are a good workout and both teach technique. The difference is that the first focuses on fitness and the latter on skills.
"The OC Kickboxing staff is friendly and has truly been supportive of my goals. The instructors are knowledgeable and effective teachers of the martial arts and kickboxing. The classes are enjoyable and present challenging workouts that have helped me to develop strength, muscle tone, and real-world self-defense skills."... Robert Porr
The fitness kickboxing class improves endurance, strength, muscle tone, coordination and flexibility. It also builds lean muscle and burns fat. Kickboxing is one of the best cardiovascular workouts. You can burn up to 800 calories in a one hour class!! In addition to burning calories and fat, because you'll be working on a bag, you also get resistance training in every class which will help you to tone up and have that chiseled physique. The explosive, upbeat cardiovascular workout emphasizes footwork, body mechanics, punching and kicking combinations and basic offensive and defensive techniques. It's fun, challenging, and a great way to stay in shape and improve overall physical fitness. You'll also learn some self-defense skills and increase your confidence.

In the technical kickboxing classes, you'll learn proper technique step by step. You'll develop solid boxing and kickboxing skills. At a begining level, you'll learn the stance, footwork, body mechanics, basic punches and kicks, basic elbow and knee strikes, basic clinching and combinations. You'll also learn simple, practical, easy to learn defenses that will work against any type of a strike. You'll work with a partner on equipment including focus mitts, thai pads and kicking shields. This is a great way to learn without getting hurt. At an intermediate level, you'll learn more advanced boxing, kicking, elbow and knee strikes, defense, combinations, clinching, sparring drills and basic self-defense. At an advanced level, you'll learn advanced technique and strategies for in and out of the ring including counter-punching, free-sparring, competition training and advanced self-defense application.
