Boxe Francaise Savate is an exciting ring sport from France. One of a few "authentic" kickboxing styles in the world, Savate offers full contact as well as light contact competition. Savate is known for mobility, fluidity and rapid-fire kicking and punching combinations. A blend of French kicking methods and old English boxing, Savate was developed in the 1800's on the sailing ships and back streets of France.
OC Kickboxing's Savate program produces some of the best Savate students and fighters in America. OC Kickboxing recently sent four competitors to the National competition in Chicago. Three of the four competitors took first place and one took second place. The three first place winners qualified to compete in the International Savate Competition held in Bulgaria during the summer of 2004. We compete regularly on a local level and have one of the biggest Savate teams on the West Coast.
